The Rolex Submariner Date ref. 16610 is one of the most iconic references in the Submariner lineage, produced from 1988 to 2010. Housed in a 40mm stainless steel Oyster case, it features a black aluminum insert unidirectional rotatable bezel and a black stick dial with applied hour markers and luminous plots. Powered by the Rolex calibre 3135, a self-winding movement with a bi-directional Perpetual rotor, quickset date function via the crown at 3 o'clock, and a Parachrom hairspring for enhanced shock and temperature resistance. The watch is rated to 300 metres / 1000 feet of water resistance, conforming to its professional diver specification. It is fitted on a stainless steel Oyster bracelet secured by a folding Oysterclasp. The 16610 was succeeded by the ref. 116610 in 2010, which introduced a ceramic bezel insert.
